The Cross Hotbar from the PlayStation 3 version that lets you press the L2 and R2 buttons then a button on the D-Pad or face button to execute an ability has been updated for the PS4 version to be more customizable, and it's a breeze to change skills around. But from what I played, every animation was very smooth and there wasn't any lag.Ĭoming from playing A Realm Reborn exclusively on PC, I was a bit worried about testing out the PlayStation 4 controls, but they're intuitive enough that by the end of my demo it was a cinch to control my character with a DualShock 4. Usually you'll be running at a minimum of 30 FPS. If you're in an area with hundreds of people fighting a huge boss like Odin, your FPS could dip under 30. As for framerates, director/producer Naoki Yoshida explained that the PS4 version of A Realm Reborn will run at a maximum of 60 FPS, but it isn't fixed there due to the nature of the MMO. A high-end PC will still showcase the game to the fullest, but nevertheless the high-definition graphics sing in full 1080p, and more of the characters are able to appear on screen than in the PS3 build. FF14: ARR has been fully optimized for the PlayStation 4, and seeing it in action, there is a marked visual improvement over the PlayStation 3 version.
